1722 Consulting Ltd is the controller of the personal data described on this page. We collect very little: information you send us by email when you make an enquiry, and — only if you accept analytics cookies — usage data through Google Analytics. We do not sell your data, run advertising, or make automated decisions about you. This page sets out what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to exercise your rights under UK GDPR.

What we collect, and why
1. Information you send us
If you email us, we receive what you choose to tell us — typically your name, email address, and the content of your enquiry. We use this to respond to you and to assess whether an engagement makes sense. The lawful basis for this is legitimate interests: responding to a direct enquiry you have initiated.
2. Analytics — only with your consent
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how pages are used, but only if you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner. Analytics is set to default-denied until you consent (Google Consent Mode v2), and IP anonymisation is enabled. The lawful basis for analytics is consent — you can withdraw it at any time. What we don't do
We do not sell or rent your data to third parties, we do not run advertising or retargeting, and we do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept only as long as needed to respond to you and, where an engagement follows, for the duration of that relationship and any period required afterwards for accounting or legal purposes. Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard Analytics retention settings.
International transfers
Where analytics data is processed by Google, this may involve transfers of data outside the UK, subject to appropriate safeguards recognised under UK GDPR.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email steven@1722.co.uk.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
